Zerg, weaker or just harder/different?

Zerg for me is by far the race I see the least. There have been a fair amount of complaining that MMM for terran is too strong, many protoss players exclaiming how abusive forcefield can be, and I don't need to mention void rays. Where is the crying about zerg? Did the roach nerf just hurt them too much? From this perspective, zerg seems to weak.

However, watching the HDH invitational you can see some zerg rock the *#%! out of the other races. From what I can tell, primarily through economics. Expanding faster while raiding the others base/expansions. So maybe it is just a different play style, you cannot just have one army in a ball and attack.

What say you

Q u o t e:
Xenon(sphere): I have had similar experiences. Zerglings are suppose to be the counter against armoured ground like Marauders, Tanks, Thors, Stalkers and Immortals. But they just die too fast to deal damage, leaving Hydralisks exposed. Not to mention It is hard to catch those armoured units unprotected in the open.

Corrupter vs Void Ray is possibly the most unfair matchup right now. Zerg's dedicated anti-air is just cannonfodder for VR, leaving VRs unchecked to harrass zerg workers. Scattering Hydras and Queens throughout your hatcheries is not a viable counter, because VRs travel fast enough and have enough range to keep the zerg busy until the toss has massed a large force of VRs, which is almost impossible for zerg to stop.

The upcoming patch contains a little tweak to Void Rays that will hopefully make them more vulnerable to microed units, such as Hydras or Vikings.

I just wanted to assure you that we're looking into this and we're monitoring this unit closely.
