Will the D3 character screen lie to us?
by Clan-iraq | 02/05/2010 01:10:28![]() The d2 char screen was infamous for 'lying'. It was popularly known as the "LCS"; Lying Character Screen. This is because the statistics shown on it in terms of damage, attack rating, resistances, etc were not the actual values used by the game during its calculations, but instead values fed into the character screen. And many times, these values were not synchronized. A lightning facet that gives +5% lightning damage would appear to do so on the character screen for "Lightning Sentry", when in reality it gives no bonus. Double Throw and all allow & javelin projectile skills appear to grant bonus attack rating, but due to a glitch none of them give anything. The %resistances granted from the Anya quest and scroll of resistances would be lost after your first death every game, but the character screen does not show this. These are just three of potentially thousands of examples. Will the D3 character screen use desynchronized data again? Or will it directly receive its values from the same source as the damage calculations and such? Because due to these glitches, the character screen in D2 was mostly useless. I'd like to not see this happen in D3 . |
