Ok so here it goes, last week I decided I wanted to try out Diablo 2. I am not going to lie, I downloaded an illegitimate copy, once I updated it and tried to connect to USEast, it gave me an error saying the key was determined to be from a pirated copy and then gave me the message "Unable to connect to battle.net". I have since bought a BRAND NEW LEGITIMATE copy, fresh install. I continue to get the plain "Unable to connect to battle.net". I am able to connect to every other realm except east! Please help. Like I said, this is a fresh install, and I have bought this myself and can provide pictures to prove.

Your connection has been temporarily restricted from Battle.net. This restriction is realm-specific and can last up to 2 weeks.

It can happen for any of the following reasons:
- Using an invalid CD key
- Rapidly connecting and disconnecting to Battle.net
- Creating or joining numerous games within a short time period such as "Magic finding" or "Baal runs"
- By the use of "add-on programs"
- Chat channel abuse
- Failed login attempts
- In game latency caused by excessive spell effects

We are unable to lift these restrictions early or tell exactly why the restriction was placed on your connection.
