I recently downloaded the client for diablo 2 and lod and installed them onto my laptop. I cannot connect to useast or uswest battle.net. However, I can connect to asia and europe realms and play on there. When I try to connect to either useast or uswest I receive the message that i was unable to connect to battle.net check modem. I also had gone through the technical page and to see what I can do. I tried those 7 (I think it was 7) steps to try. I deleted battle.net registry, telnet etc. None of those worked and I am curious if anyone has encountered this or if there is something else I could try.

I don't see any IP restrictions on the IP you're posting from. When it appears to be restricted yet we see no restrictions, what usually has to be done is for you get a new IP address. It's easy to do so though I can't really explain how for legal reasons. Your ISP can walk you through it if you don't know how or you can find several articles on the net with a simple search.
