I haven't played Warcraft 3 recently due to WoW (haha). Last Tuesday during server maintenance, i decided to log back on. However, when i tried to log on, recieved an error message saying that i was attempting to connect to an invalid battle.net server and that if i used a modem, i needed to connect to the internet. I know im no banned because i ran the Win32 diagnostics and did not encounter any errors. please help

Hi, Crazylildude

I'd suggest starting with a DNS flush.

For XP:

1. Click Start, then Run.
2. Type in CMD
3. When the command prompt comes up type in the following in succession, all without the quotes:

"ipconfig /release" press Return
"ipconfig /renew" press Return
"ipconfig /flushdns" press Return

4. Close the DOS window and try WoW.

For Vista:

1. Click Start, then Run.
2. Type in CMD. When you see the command prompt come up, right-click and choose "Run as Administrator."
3. When the window comes up, type in the following in succession, all without the quotes:

"ipconfig /release" press Return
"ipconfig /renew" press Return
"ipconfig /flushdns" press Return

4. Close the DOS window and try WoW.

For Mac OS X:

1. Navigate to /Applications/Utilities/ and launch Terminal.
2. Copy/Paste the following:
For Leopard (10.5):
dscacheutil -flushcache
For Tiger (10.4) and Panther (10.3):
lookupd -flushcache
3. Press return.

If that fails, powercycle your network.

1. Unplug your modem and router (if you have one.)
2. Let them set for 30-60 seconds.
3. Plug them back in modem first, then the router.
4. Reboot your computer.
5. Test.
