'Unable to authenticate your download' on Mac
by Whiskey55 | 21/09/2009 04:08:32![]() I haven't been able to download any of my registered Blizzard games onto my new Macbook, I keep getting the 'Unable to authenticate' error message either at the beginning or partway through the download. How can I fix this? I'm downloading the Mac version, I tried it for StarCraft Anthology, WarCraft 3 ROC, and D2. I'm running OS 10.6.1. |

Try a different browser. If that doesn’t work, the DNS cache may need to be flushed. To do this go into the Terminal (Go > Utilities > Terminal) and type in the following: For Leopard (10.5): dscacheutil -flushcache Press Return For Tiger (10.4) and Panther (10.3): lookupd -flushcache Press Return **Note: Terminal will not tell you if it’s successful, only if there was a problem. You can also try creating a new admin account: 1. Go to Apple menu => System Preferences => Accounts 2. Create a new Admin account 3. Log into that account 4. Go back into the www.blizzard.com/sto 5. Now go ahead and download downloader 6. Download the installer into the following folder: Mac HD => Users =>Shared 7. Log back into your original Account 8. Run the installer from the shared folder 9. make sure to delete the Account you just created Finally, please make sure you’re using a wired connection. Apple has acknowledged an issue with the latest AirPort software so a wired connection is going to be far more stable. All knowledge is worth having.
