I've recently bought a new HP laptop, with windows 7 and i get the following error message when trying to install Warcraft 3 and Diablo 2

Exact Message:
"The version of the file is not compatible with the version of windows you're running. Check your computers system information to see whether you need an x86(32-bit) or x64 (64-bit), and then contact the software publisher"

I've tried running every compatibility mode and have been screwing around with it for a bit.

As I mentioned in your post on the Wow forum, the message you're giving doesn't make sense.

"The version of windows is not compatible with the version of windows you're running."
Are you sure you're reading that right? What are you clicking on that produces the error message?

Ok, so what exactly are you doing when you see that message? It would seem you might be running a 64 bit version of something on a 32 bit OS.

We only have a single version and it's 32 bit. It works on both 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows.

What's the exact filename of what you're trying to open and how are you opening it? Are you just double clicking it?

I've no idea of what you have then but it's not the installer. It should be the size you see in my screenshot, 2.63 MB.

Where exactly did you get it?
