Technical help - I know ya'll know

Alright i just got a new place and a room mate. Got him to play a little bit of SC and now we're wanting to play together. The internet connection is the suck for the time being, so i'd love to try to LAN.

It's two computers and a router. What do we do? I've googled and searched but there's 100 different answers. So barring straight connection of the two computers, is there a way we can play through the router?

I'll go find out what kinda router we got.

You will not be able to play in the same game on Battle.net unless you manage to get two external IPs from your provider. Not exactly your question but it might prove useful once you get a better internet
connection.

Both of you will need to be patched up to the latest version and you will each need your own copy of the game complete with a unique CD-Key.

Use the UDP setting when creating games and make sure your firewalls have exceptions for StarCraft..
