Supply depots
by Evolutionofmind | 16/02/2009 12:49:42![]() Hi, why do we always consider of new, big and impressive abilities or units, when we even not tap the full potential of the standard units? Let me call attention on to the supply depots: They operate well - since warcraft 2. Now they can lower, act like a wall and could even be upgraded to give 2 additional supply - yes we can. But have we really thickled all out of this? I say not, couse the depot is is easy to learn, but still (despite the lowering ability) not hard to master. So we could add some further details to challenge the players even with the supply depots: Here are 3 ideas, feel free to go on: -- Is it true, that the depot could lower although it is upgraded? Change this to weight the desicion for upgrading one of them! (this relates with the armor point below!) --Is it true, that the only difference of lowered and normal mode is letting the units pass over it? I hope not! Here are some additional ideas: -give the lowered depot more armor points - so it has a kind of self defence - but dissize it of some supply points! This would give the player some pro and contra possibilities in defending. -lasty the starcraft.wikia suggest a less important ability: "It is used by both military units and colonists.[1] Such storage includes weapons, ammunition and even SCVs." Depots with a bunker-ability for SCVs? This is a interesting idea only if SCVs couldn't enter normal bunker - but they can. I don't think we need this idea - i list it only for the sake of completeness. best regards EoM |
