But if I load Starcraft then close firefox both firefox and starcraft will work as normal.

That is the same version of Firefox that I am using and it has no issues for me.

Can you try launching Firefox in Safemode to see if the issues still occur?

To do this click on Start > Programs > Mozzila Firefox > Firefox (Safe mode)
