Why do they release the patch notes before actually patching the game? Must they torture us like this?

When am I not at work?

We had information all prepped and ready to share and were comfortable releasing it a bit early to let people start digesting some of the changes. Hopefully when the patch comes out, people will be more focused on testing the changes than trying to comprehend them.

Seems like releasing them ahead of time just aggravates the problem of people panicking before the new dynamics are settled in actual gameplay.

Just my opinion :). In a perfect world, the patch notes would go up when the 15 minute warning occurs on battle.net.

When don't people panic with patches that have this many changes? ;) The hope is to dissipate it once the patch actually goes live so better testing and feedback return.
