So close to being B rated!
by Slayerzboxerz | 25/01/2010 12:07:10![]() I am now just inches away from being the highest rated 2x2 player in Japan. I can taste it. If any of you forumers would like to play me at 2x2 on ICCUP just add Boxcar to your friends and we will go at it. Remember, playing on ICCUP will ultimately help you get better at SC2 when it's released. This is regardless of whatever some of the noobs on these forums say. Thanks for all your support!
Oh no you di'int! <---- Bashiok Yes, he quoted me...I'm famous now. |
by Xordiah | 25/01/2010 13:00:45![]() I have taken the liberty to edit a couple of parts out of your response Starshaped. Please do keep a civil tone in these forums. Also, I both agree and disagree with you to some extent. First of all: I believe being a good StarCraft player does indeed help quite a bit in learning StarCraft 2. You will have a lot more experience in using the right build orders, in getting your timing right, you will be able to learn how to scout effectively. You will learn how to react to your opponent and how macro affects your game. You learn a lot about the basics and about the strategies behind the game. Of course you have interface differences in StarCraft 2, some things will be easier and a good StarCraft 2 player will use them to their advantage. There are a lot of changes from StarCraft: Brood War to StarCraft 2 and if you don't adapt to these changes then you won't be playing in the top ranks (though as a good player, you can probably hit a decent mid-range rank even without taking advantage of the new posibilities and mechanics).
