I want to know that because I have never played SC or any other RTF game in my entire life and yesterday a friend of mine who was on vacation come back and saw that he got a SC Beta CD-Key, since he won't be able to play it he will sell it and I realy want to buy it. But I realy don't want to be #!!%d in multiplayer mode and don't enjou the game. So I want to know if there is any sort of single player in the beta so I can learn the basic rules of the game before I join multi-player.

You can play against the computer. The AI is currently set to "very easy".

Also please note that trading keys is forbidden by the Beta test agreement and your account may be permanently banned for this reason, thus also kicking you out of the beta.

This. We recommend trying to play against an AI and checking different buildings and units out to see what they can do. You should probably also take a look at the Tech Trees, as they are very useful and provide necessary information :)

And, of course don't worry about losing that much. You learn this way and if you just march ahead you will certainly learn more and more about the game! You can also try watching replays :)
