So i just finished downloading the patch and everything and got on bnet. Everything was fine and i got into a game. After ~5 mins, it bnet says i've "been dropped" and then SC2 immediately crashes...
This is the first time this has happened to me so im wondering this is a patch thing?

I have not heard of any crashes but there are connectivity issues occurring currently so it could be related.
