Before you automatically dismiss this, an example of one temp ban i got was simply i logged in played my smiter for a good 20 mins then switched to a different character and was immediately logged off and when i tried to log in it said you are temporarily restricted, this one was just after coming off a 7 hour temp ban and it was the very first action since I logged in, this and similar events have happened to me 6 or 7 times in the past few days, each one lasting WELL over 3 hours, so ya wtf is going on there's no way in all blazing hell that I'm breaking the rules to get temp banned, cuz well... half the time i don't even have the opportunity. Mind explaining, or fixing this blizzard you in-put would be welcome and why are bans like 5 + hours why can't they be i dunno 15-60mins it'd have the same effect and it wouldn't punish players, but still I'm getting sick of not being able to play for a week because of unwarranted temp bans.

Hi, Path_of_rage

I completely understand your frustration in this, and I share in it. Unfortunately, no one will be able to say "This specific behavior is what causes your temporary restrictions." We simply cannot see the reason for it in our system. This message will appear as a result of any the following:

- Rapidly connecting and disconnecting to Battle.net
- Creating or joining numerous games within a short time period such as "Magic finding" or "Baal runs"
- By the use of "add-on programs"
- Chat channel abuse
- Failed login attempts
- In game latency caused by excessive spell effects

This is a temporary restriction and it should automatically release itself after a predetermined amount of time. Each restriction can be different and lengths are dependent upon the severity of the violation, and can last a maximum of 12 hours. This is also a realm specific error so you may find yourself being able to connect to the other Battle.net realms as well as Open Battle.net and Single Player.

If you find that your play style includes creating multiple games in a short period of time, please try reducing the number of games you create. If multiple players are connecting from a shared internet connection, try and avoid having everyone join a game at the same time to prevent the game servers detecting that multiple games have been created in a short time, as this can increase your chance of getting a restriction.

Unless you remove the maphack, it will be detected, and you will get banned.

My suggestion...

Don't use hacks. Period. Not even for Single Player.
