Question about Terran Add-Ons
by Planeshift | 04/06/2009 01:32:31![]() In StarCraft, the main idea of the Add-ons being deatachable were so that you could "steal" enemy add-ons and use them for yourself. The catch is, even a deatached add-on were considered an enemy building, making your units auto-target them and capturing it a bit tricky. My question is: how this works in SC2? The units ai prioritize main buildings (I mean, things like barracks)? Do the ai consider deatached (or even atached) add-ons as "neutral" and do not auto-target them? Or in SC2 you can't steal add-ons at all? I used to be known as RdG, but I think my new nick is better! Marine1 - "I want an SCV!!!" Marine2 - "Why?" Marine1 - "Everyone could use a Super Combat Vehicle!!!" Marine2 - "..." |

While I don't know about the 'main idea' of the add-ons being detachable is so the other side could steal them, this mechanic is still in the game. The AI does not prioritize the buildings over the the add-ons in StarCraft II. 'Stealing' is also a bit trickier to do since Terran players can salvage buildings like add-ons and bunkers to get 100% of the cost back over X period of time (in which X is subject to balance still of course). |
