Try what Sixen mentioned. If that doesn't help, make sure you no proxies are active in Internet Explorer even if it's not your default browser. In IE->Tools->Internet Options->Connections->Lan Settings->make sure only Automatically Detect Settings is checked->Ok

FYI: The downloader uses your IE connection settings.

Well, there are always certain cut-off dates, especially for promotional codes like BlizzCon and the Worldwide Invitational.

Sorry for jumping in on this thread but have you done the basics we recommend? I don't see any mention that you have yet.

1. Right click on the Diablo II icon.
2. Select "Properties"
3. Click on the "Compatibility" tab
4. Select "Windows XP SP2"
5. Select "Run in 256 Colors"
6. Select "Run in 640 x 480 Resolution"
7. Select "Disable Desktop Composition"
8. Click "OK"

Ad-aware by Lavasoft has a free version that should take care of tracking cookies. I like to run Malwarebytes last because of the limit to what it will take care of.

If Sixen shows up he has a list of a bunch of programs with the links.

You will not be able to get new video drivers until ATI releases the Catalyst 10.3 drivers next month so we can try skipping that for now. Does the game minimize like that when you run it in windowed mode?

- Right click on the Warcraft III icon
- Click Properties
- In the Target field, add the extension for each mode (see list below).
- Click OK
- Try the game now with the icon you just modified.

Windowed Mode:
Your target line should look something like "C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Warcraft III.exe" -window
