Is there anyway to disable the P2P component of the updater as my University (UF) does not allow P2P to be used on campus and as I live on campus this prevents me from patching the game and gets me a violation every time the game is patched and I start it before realizing that a new patch is out.

Currently there is no way to disable the peer to peer functionality. This is an issue that we have requested that they look into. There is no supported way around this at this time.
