OS 10.5 Hosting
by Codeknight | 07/02/2009 09:17:25![]() Ever since we got OS 10.5 we haven't been able to host anything but the maps that came with Warcraft. Hosting custom maps results in Warcraft crashing if the firewall is set to allow all connections; and a window popping up saying "Do you want 'Warcraft 3' to accept incoming network connections" when the firewall is set to "Set access for specific services and applications." When that happens no matter what I choose the next time I attempt to connect to Battle.net I get an error saying that Bnet can't verify my version of Warcraft. |
by Datth | 10/02/2009 01:56:28![]() Hi Codeknight, Have you updated to 10.5.6 yet? There was an update (I think 10.5.1) that modified the firewall's behavior. Tech Support No more bullets/arrows, so they can roll on even more stuff... How did I do? https:// |
by Lucytr | 11/02/2009 01:47:05![]() Hi, Codeknight, I always recommend the Combo update whenever possible. It often has extra info that the "Delta" one doesn't give you. The universe is already insane. Anything else would be redundant. Click Here to take survey and let me know how I'm doing! https:// |
by Lucytr | 11/02/2009 23:17:10![]() Well, if you're using a router, try setting the firewall to Allow All Incoming Connections. That'll eliminate the OSX firewall as a culprit. And, again if you're on a router, you'll need to set the firewall on that properly. I'd suggest checking www.portforward.com for your make & model of router. That'll give you a visual walkthru on how to set it up properly for a variety of games and applications. The universe is already insane. Anything else would be redundant.
