Nvidia Drivers 197.13 - Completely breaks SC2
by Inc.inc | 18/03/2010 12:46:59![]() Downloaded the new Nvidia drivers (197.13), but it looks like it breaks Starcraft 2 completely. I did a full uninstall (driversweeper and all) of the previous drivers. Upon starting the game, the screen begins to flicker wildly where it eventually dies and crashes me back to desktop. I sent in the error report which showed the following error: e_gfxErrorDevice "Graphics device is not available at this time. If the problem persists, for more information consult our support website at http://starcraft2.co These drivers are running really good on my system and I would hate to uninstall them just for SC2 |
by Datth | 18/03/2010 16:27:07![]() Hi Inc, That doesn't sound like a completely broken thing for StarCraft 2 specifically but it is more like it didn't install and enable correctly. Can you post as much of the dxdiag file as you can with the new drivers? Tech Support "I explode the healer with my awesome damage" - Ghostcrawler https:// |
by Adams | 20/03/2010 04:55:42![]() It appears that Nvidia has pulled the 197.13 version down from their website and replaced it the 196.21 as the most current. |
by Datth | 25/03/2010 19:00:44![]() We're currently recommending folks to go back to the 196.21 for the time being. Of course this will be a problem as these drivers do not support the upcoming NVIDIA video cards. I'm not sure if it's a new release, though, as the date is today. We'll check out the new ones.
