New install but can't connect to USWEST
by Iwog | 05/04/2010 01:40:38![]() Installed D2LOD on my parents computer so I could play while I'm visiting. I can connect to all other gateways but I cannot connect to uswest. In fact attempting to connect locks my computer almost immediately and I need to terminate the program and restart. Updated to current version via USEAST. What gives? [ Post edited by Iwog ] |
by Charlesps | 05/04/2010 01:59:01![]() Hello Iwog There is a restriction on the connection you use to reach Battle.net. That means that this connection was detected violating the terms of use in one of the manners described below. - Spamming text in the chat channel (often associated with bots) - Repeated attempts to use an invalid CD-Key - Repeated use of third-party programs (hacks) these include but are not limited to sending bad packets, flooding the server(s), and the use of hack programs Restrictions of this nature can last form several days up to two weeks. This restriction has approximately 9 days left. Technical support does not have access to the reason a specific restriction was put in place and We do not have the ability to remove the restriction. The only thing I can recommend is trying to connect every couple of days to see if the restriction has lifted. Technical support needs your feedback. by Charlesps | 05/04/2010 02:36:24![]() The issue occurs when a connection is used in one of the manners described. t can occur with any of our older Battle.net games and will affect all of their ability to connect. The issues are more common in situations where a large number of people share the same connection like a company, college, or an apartment that provides an internet connection and in situations where an ISP does IP sharing. by Charlesps | 05/04/2010 03:16:49![]() We do not have access to information regarding when the restriction was put in place. If you are certain that no one in the home caused the issue then you may want to contact your ISP and ask if they do any sort of IP sharing. Technical support needs your feedback.
