MAC: warcraft 3 quit unexpectedly
by T.o.h.s | 07/09/2009 19:38:30![]() Here is the message: The application WarcraftIII quit unexpectedly. Mac OS X and other applications are not affected. Click Relaunch to launch the application again. Click Report to see more details or send a report to Apple. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Now when I click relaunch the exact same message keeps popping up. I was told to patch 1.21b manually or something but it worked to no avail. I think that the method above might work but I'm not sure if I did it right. If someone could post step by step to manually patch, or a solution to my problem it would be greatly appreciated |

Select the hard drive the game is installed on 3. Select the First Aid option 4. Click on the Repair Disk Permissions button Repair Directory Procedure: 1. Shut down the computer. 2. Power up holding Cmd (Apple) +s until you get a black screen with white type 3. At the cursor please type the following: /sbin/fsck -f -y and press return *NOTE - Please be aware that some of the procedures will look like they are frozen, but are actually taking a long time i.e. checking hierarchy 4. If anything had to be repaired, repeat step 3. Do this until it says "The Volume appears to be OK." 5. Once things are repaired type exit and press return 6. Computer will boot into Mac OS I would also recommend running the Apple Hardware Test. You will need to have the original disc your computer was shipped with mounted in the drive. Hold down the "D" key while rebooting to get into the Apple Hardware Test from the choices. If you don't have an Intel-based Mac, you'll need to hold down "Option" while booting to get to the Startup Manager. Then you can choose the AHT from the options there. I'd recommend an extended test of all hardware, looping if that's possible. That will let us know for sure if there are any hardware problems. If it reports any hardware issues, you'll want to contact a local Apple Service Provider to address those. Please use the following steps to uninstall the game: 1) How to remove the Warcraft III folder: * Find the Warcraft III folder on your hard drive and open it. * Copy or move the Save folder to the desktop. * Copy or move any maps you have made (in the Maps folder) to the desktop. * Delete the Warcraft III folder. 2) How to remove the preferences files for the game and battle.net: * If you are using Mac OS X, open the ~/Library/Preference * If you are using Mac OS 9.2.2 or earlier open the System folder and then open the Preferences folder. * Find all the files in the Preferences folder which contain the words "Warcraft III", "BNUpdate" 3) Run the installer for Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos. 4) If you have Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne install it now. 5) Finally, connect to Battle.net with the game and download the latest patch or download and use the most recent patch from Battle.net. We shouldn't have to be doing this anymore, but this is what was working prior to 1.24b: Make sure your DivX is updated by visiting http://w 1. Remove all traces of WC3 from your system. (Instructions below) 2. Install ROC then TFT back to back. Do NOT launch. 3. Patch with this file: http://f 4. Launch TFT and connect to Battle.net for the latest patch. Here are the instructions to make sure you have all of WC3 removed: 1) How to remove the Warcraft III folder: * Find the Warcraft III folder on your hard drive and open it. * Copy or move the Save folder to the desktop. * Copy or move any maps you have made (in the Maps folder) to the desktop. * Delete the Warcraft III folder. 2) How to remove the preferences files for the game and battle.net: * If you are using Mac OS X, open the ~/Library/Preference * Find all the files in the Preferences folder which contain the words "Warcraft III", "BNUpdate" Please, let me know if this works for you so I can let those who need to know know. by Lucytr | 09/09/2009 02:30:50![]() As I said, we should have gotten beyond this problem, but the wonky workaround I posted before is what we were using before with the 1.23 patch. Give it a shot, exactly as I laid out, and let me know, please. All knowledge is worth having. Click Here to take survey and let me know how I'm doing! https:// |
