Hello,

About 2minutes into every SC2 beta game I lose hotkey functionality. Im not sure if its the game or my keyboard or my drivers or something else but its quite frustrating. I've noticed it happening in Warcraft III as well so I suspect its not SC2b.

Any suggestions for a fix would be greatly appreciated.

My guess is you are in Canada.

Now to explain how this guess occurred.

Canadian computers usually come with the French and English keyboard settings installed. To change these you need to hit a series of keys.

Oddly enough this series of keys always seems to coincide with functions people use in our games.

The result is you hit these keys and then change your language to french and nothing responds properly.

More often than not the person asking has no real need for a French keyset so removing it is usually the best course of action.

To do this click on Start > Settings > Control Panel

Then open up the Regional and Language settings.

Click on the Keyboard and Languages tab then click on change keyboards

Under the General Tab highlight French and click remove

Now if you want to keep the keyset check the advanced key settings tab. It will probably say the key combination to change the keyset is Left Alt + Shift. If you run itno the issue again pressing these keys should return the keyset to English.

Doh, my Sherlock Holmes moment ruined, but so close.
