Leagues and Ladders Update
by Malarh | 27/04/2010 19:08:46![]() With the first full beta reset, we changed the number of placement matches from 10 to 5. As a response to this change, we recently modified the frequency of promotions and relegations. Players should now see more movement if they're near the top or bottom of a specific league. We would like to gather some feedback from you on how your experience with the league system felt prior to this change and if you have noticed an improvement after the recent adjustment. Please respond to this thread with your experience in moving between leagues so far. |

We are definitely looking for feedback on the results of these changes from testers, but from the data we have, we aren't seeing any significant difference between five or ten match placements Keep in mind too that promotions and demotions are occurring a bit more quickly to where any mistake in the actual placement should correct itself. We're still definitely keeping an eye on things but it seems that there may be a more psychological aspect that's coming into play with perceptions of a smaller number of matches being used versus a larger number of matches. Well, you're either selling yourself short, or you'll end up moving on the ladder again. Please feel free to let us know how it goes. ;) "My body is a cage, that keeps me from dancing with the one I love, but my mind holds the key." -Arcade Fire |
by Nethaera | 28/04/2010 19:39:29![]() I'm just wondering if those who are not feeling they were placed correctly felt that they were playing at their best during their matches or not (and vice versa, their opponent was playing at their best)? If you aren't playing your best, your results may not be where you want them to be and if your opponent isn't playing their best, you may find you're ranking (initially) higher than you believe yourself should be. It's understandable but we're working to keep a little flexibility in the system to where you land where you should be with a little more time within the ladder itself as well. The placement matches may seem like a warm up, but each game should be approached as if they matter, because in terms of being initially placed within the ladder, they do.
