Issues starting battle.net
by Supa-ryu | 17/02/2009 15:49:56![]() When I installed warcraft 3 reign of chaos it worked fine until I logged out and then tried to log back in. It said "There was an error writing to your hard drive while trying to download a file from Battle.net. You may need to free some space. Please check your hard drive and try again." This is a brand new computer so I have lots of free space in my hard drive. I've also tried to click on properties on the short cut icon of warcraft 3 and clicking on run this program as administrator. It currently says the same thing when I start it. May someone give me some helpful advice? |
by Lucytr | 18/02/2009 01:21:58![]() It should, Sixen. It's most likely that the program is having problems writing any changes to the files (saves or whatnot) so it's reporting that error. The universe is already insane. Anything else would be redundant. Click Here to take survey and let me know how I'm doing! https:// |
by Lucytr | 18/02/2009 01:35:01![]() Ah, yes, Vista quirks are fun, aren't they? LOL In general, it's due to Vista's trust issues. If you don't tell Vista to run a program as administrator, it thinks you don't trust it to be safe. The universe is already insane. Anything else would be redundant. by Lucytr | 18/02/2009 02:24:26![]() Yep, there is. I don't know why other than "trust issues," but I do know that even in an admin account, you still have to tell Vista to "Run as admin" on nearly every program that makes regular file changes. The universe is already insane. Anything else would be redundant. Click Here to take survey and let me know how I'm doing! https:// |
