Hi, I recently installed stealthbot 2.7.1 which I believe is legal. Now I may have connected to b.net too many times that night but what happened is that I tried connecting the bot and myself at the same time. Having only one warcraft boxset I had both the cd keys , one for ROC and one for TFT so that could not work. I also have the starcraft , brood war boxset but lost the brood war cd key somehow, so I tried connecting my stealthbot using the starcraft cd-key by entering only my starcraft cd-key which by now must be getting old.
I know the stealth bot requires both cd keys of the game and expansion but I tried anyway and i got ip banned. I cannot connect on b.net east or west. I am not trying to violate the use of terms agreement, I just want to run a bot on my clan channel . Connection of my bot on sc cd-key failed because it said that it was invalid , Although I know I did buy the game and looked carefully to see if I did make a mistake filling in the cd-key form but the cd-key was correct.

Can you tell me the level of importance of my ip ban and how long it is going to take ,

The IP address you're posting from was recently used to violate the Battle.net Terms of Use Agreement - http://www.battle.net/tou.shtml. The most common causes for this are: connecting to Battle.net with an invalid CD-Key, spamming the chat channels, use of flood or load bots, harassing another user, and/or the use of a third party program(s).

The IP address has warranted a lengthy restriction and will not be able to access Battle.net (Azeroth/USEast) for 2 weeks from today.

And, on a personal note, if you had even a thought that using a bot would get you banned, why did you do it?

I'm fairly certain that the use of the bot is what got you IP restricted. I cannot lift this or tell you exactly what got the restriction placed on your connection. You will have to wait out the restriction and not use the bot again. It could have been your CD key that got restricted, and that's 30 days for the first offense.

I am only providing information, not arguing the finer points. You asked what caused you to get IP restricted. The bot is the most likely thing.
