Does anyone know why my computer likes to run in windowed mode a lot more than full screen or full window? I seem to rarely crash or freeze compared to the others. I'd prefer to be able to play full screen as scrolling is a little difficult.

I recommend updating your operating system so that you are using Service Pack 3 for Windows XP:

Also, your video card falls below the minimum specifications and it has drivers that are form 2007.

You might get some performance improvement using the drivers located here:

They are from 2008 so there may still be issues which is common on video cards with drivers that predate the program they are trying to run by a considerable amount of time.

If 7 has more recent drivers than it might be a good move but the hardware itself is still under powered so it may not be enough to just have more recent drivers.

The error you are getting when you try to update the drivers usually goes hand in hand with laptop cards but it did not look like you had a laptop. It may still be an issue with integrated cards.

You might be able to upgrade the video card provided it is not a laptop but you would need to know what the motherboard can support and your power supply would need to be strong enough for the increased juice that it would need to provide.

We can't make specific card recommendations but you can ask for help in these forums. you would want to title the thread something like 'looking for upgrades' and include a budget and motherboard and power supply information.
