If you would like to post in these forums but you don't know either how to log in or how to setup your account, this is a quick walk-through:

Step 1) Make sure you have an authentic and active copy of any of the following games installed: “StarCraft: Brood War”, “Diablo II”, “Diablo II: Lord of Destruction”, “Warcraft III”, or “Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne”.

Step 2) Launch any of the games mentioned above, and wait for the main menu to load.

Step 3) From the main menu, click the “Multiplayer” button to access the legacy Battle.net account creation and login screen.

Step 4) Under the field “Select connection”, make sure you choose “Battle.net”.

Step 5) Under the field “Gateway”, pick the option that closest matches your current location and region for the best connection performance.

Once you continue from Step 5, you will connect to Battle.net and automatically download all client patches that are available, ensuring that you are running the latest client version. Upon completion you will be presented with a screen that reads “Welcome to Battle.net”.

Step 6) Click on the “New Account” button and carefully read through the Terms of Agreement. If you agree to the terms and conditions, press the “Accept” button to continue.

Step 7) Enter your desired Account/Nick name and password in their respective fields.

Please note that your Account/Nick name is publicly visible in your forum posts, so make sure you choose something you are comfortable with others seeing.

Step 8) After submitting your desired account name and password you will then be asked for your email address. Fill this in and press “Ok” to continue.

Step 9) You are now done and can use your brand new legacy Battle.net account name and password to log in and post on the StarCraft forums!
