After installing the game and starting up an AI match for myself (to get my bearings, learn the controls, etcetera), the loading screen came up. As soon as it completed, my entire screen went dark, and the screen seemed to flicker between different shades of black, as if it was continually trying to load something. After a few minutes I decided that it had failed, and CAD'd my way out.

Unsure if this was a one time thing but it is a beta, and I figured you should know.

Also, the stars in the background are rather distracting. Perhaps a more solid colour would be in order for the post form?

Can you tell us more information about your computer? You can find most of the information if you go to Start -> Run -> type dxdiag and press Enter. (Windows Vista: Press the Windows Key (the key with the Windows logo on your keyboard) + R (at the same time). Type in DXDIAG and press Enter or click 'OK', this will open the DirectX diagnostic tool.)

Changing settings to "Medium" seems to allow the game to load. Was previously set on default settings, which were High.

Glad that helps. Your video card maybe on it's way out if that's the case, but hopefully you can continue playing on medium settings.
