Computer Locks up on "High" Graphics only
by Meanbob.hammati | 09/03/2010 21:35:18![]() If I change my graphics settings to high, when I load into a game, custom or ladder, the game will lock up. It used to give me the "blue screen of death," but after adding RAM to my computer, it simply locks the game up. I can ctl.alt.delete to shut the game down, and my screen gets a fuzzy look to it after that. This does not occur in Ultra, Medium, or Low settings. It will go to the loading screen and will not lock up/screen flicker until the loading bar is complete. The music prompting the start of the match will begin, but the screen flickers and locks up now. System Specs: Intel Quad core 2.40Ghz RAM: 4.00GB OS: Windows Vista 32 bit Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT version 8.17.11.9621 Not sure what else you might need... |

Was the new RAM added tot he existing RAM or was the old RAM removed and replaced with all new RAM? Can you also post some information about your computer? You can find this information in the Direct X Diagnostic Tool: Press the Windows Key and R Type in: dxdiag Hit Enter or OK Click on the Save All Information button at the bottom, and create a dxdiag text file, and copy and paste the data from the dxdiag file into your reply. by Charlesps | 11/03/2010 00:42:58![]() Can you try removing the 1GB sticks of RAM? Ideally RAM should be of the same size and speed as all other sticks. Mismatched RAM can cause issues with programs that use a lot of the systems RAM and if the issue occur on high it is probable that you are using more RAM at those times.
