A (slightly) interesting thought occurs to me, do Collosi become "turrets" when killed by Corrupters?

Yes.

Cavez, can you tell us if this is a viable strategy? Have you seen any testers use it?
What about corrupting allied banshees, for example?

It would be a very desperate situation to cause you to corrupt an allied unit in this way. But it would be possible. I have not seen it done in a real game yet in the way you describe, but that doesn't mean it won't happen at some point.

(:, back to the corruptor, I'd really like to know if this turret ability is still in the game.

It is still in the game, but it's not really working the way we want it to. It's not really promoting changes in how you play. You just ignore the turrets and focus on the Corruptors. So we are going to make some tweaks soon that will hopefully improve it. If it doesn't work well in this next pass then the mechanic will probably get the boot and we'll try some other mechanics on the unit.
