Clarification on the Brazilian Version pricin

Hello there,

Ok so Blizzard is going to offer a "special" version of the game for the Brazilian community, the game will cost R$49.00 (about U$27) but will be active for 6 moths only, including singleplayer. After the 6 months expire you will have the option to renew your subscription for 30 or 60 days.

Well, as part of the Brazilian gamers community I can say we see absolutely no reason in this, on a long term this version of the game will be obviously disadvantageous to buy since it will end up costing more than the original version and as of now it seems we will never be able to "convert" the limited version into the unlimited.

So we have some questions.

Will we be able to buy the pt-BR unlimited version of the game either in physical stores or online?

How is the cost of the limited version reasoned? The money has to be used to support Brazilian datacenters?

The Brazilians who chose to buy the unlimited version in pt-BR (if it exists) will be assigned to the same game servers of those with a limited edition?

The community is pretty sure that almost no gamer will buy the limited version, first of all because it is limited and will expire furthermore we are not sure if we will be able to play on the same servers of those who bought the unlimited version. And of course, we would end up paying more for the game than the other players in the world. Believe me no Brazilian will buy something severely limited (single player wat?) because it is U$30 cheaper.

Thanks in advance for the clarification.

You will be able to purchase and download the unlimited version of StarCraft II directly from Blizzard.

One of the main goals was to make our game accessible to a wide array of players (novice to veterans), this also applies to pricing options that we have.

As a scenario, if you know you're going to play StarCraft II and are expecting to play for a while, you have the option to purchase and download the unlimited version online, directly from us. However, if you're a new player or, if you're unsure about how long you're going to play for, you also have the option to purchase the limited version of the game at a reduced price. Then if you decide you want to play more, you have subscription options readily available for you.

Nothing has really changed in terms of being able to purchase the full version of the game. We've simply added additional purchasing options so that the game is accessible to a wider audience.

There is no difference in quality of play between either versions, the same is true for accessing battle.net; players using both versions of the game will be able to play against each other provided they are in the same region.

As I've mentioned before, you will have the option to purchase and download the unlimited version of the game directly from us. Allowing players the flexibility to experience the game according to their own preferences and play style is a good thing.

I would like to clarify some details as there seems to be additional confusion on this topic.

Q u o t e:
All they said is they aren't releasing the digital download on release day.
This is actually not true. You'll be able to purchase and download the Brazilian-Portuguese unlimited version directly from us the day the game is officially released.

Q u o t e:
I want the collector's edition of this game and I'll have to pay monthly? This is ridiculous!!!
It's important to note that the collector's edition is not the limited version and you won't be required to purchase additional time, either. It is also worth mentioning that Brazil, along with other Latin American countries, will have access to a very limited amount of the StarCraft II Collector's Edition.

Q u o t e:
You can still buy the limited version an then upgrade later. I saw something like this an another thread from another country with the same issues.
I wish to elaborate on this as there seems to be quite a bit of confusion surrounding this. Currently, there are no plans to allow upgrading from limited to unlimited. However, it is something we're looking into.

As I've mentioned before, in the scenario where you know you're definitely going to play the game (and for a while at that), you have the option to purchase the unlimited version. We want to make this game very accessible to everyone and we feel that having diversified payment options will help facilitate this.
