Reasons I think this:

- A lot more mod's are popping up periodically (due to the increased mayhem if they announce beta at the next conference)
- Picture of B.net 2.0 leaked w/ the words "Welcome to the StarCraft 2 Beta!" in it, from IGN
- If they don't get it out the door this year, people will cut themselves into tiny cubes and mail themselves to Blizz HQ as an offering for beta
- Profit $$$
- The world is going to end in two years, at least give us time to play beta...
