Battle.net is CENSORED?

I heard battle.net is now censored, meaning comments or words deemed "offensive" would be scrambled. People should be free to express themselves regardless of what others think of what they have to say.

Why can't Blizzard just mark on the box "Online interactions are not rated by the ESRB" - and then just sell it that way... if they are concerned about how people's comments on b.net would effect an ESRB rating? Instead, they need to dumb down the experience for everyone.

Heck, why couldn't they just have an option in the game menu to turn on/off "offensive" language? Obnoxious people on the internet was part of what made the first Starcraft fun. I'm sad to see this feature go.

This shoulda been off by default. For 2 months, I had to try and type leet speak to get around the censorship.

It's "on" by default for legal reasons. But you can turn it off, as some other players just said.

So I'm guessing that even if you turn it off, the players who have it on will still see it scrambled on their end?

Cuz that's how a good censoring filter should work.

Exactly. It works like this.
