Greetings Blizzard Support!

Some old friends of mine have dusted off their Diablo 2: LoD to get pumped up for Diablo 3, so I thought I'd join them.
Unfortunately I was unable to find my D2 CDs so I actually purchased some new ones!

After downloading the client and installing it all, I tried to connect but got the "unable to connect to batte.net" message, puzzled I tried another realm and yes, I'm restricted from Europe

Why is this? I have never played Diablo 2 in this apartment on this connection, and I am not sharing my connection with anyone else (it's not wi-fi) So why is this?

My friends are already fairly .. Far, in the game - and don't feel like starting over on USE servers (which would also result in worse pings)

Any clarification?

I don't quite understand it, as I haven't played on this IP AT ALL, it's not shared, and it makes no sense at all! I just don't want to have wasted all my money on this when I'm then unable to play.

This is posted from a USEast account as I am unable to create a europe one (as I'm banned!)

I checked your IP, and it's not restricted on Europe. Have you tried any basic troubleshooting?
