Annoying Problem

Installed Diablo 2: LoD exactly 2 weeks ago. When installing, I entered in the wrong cd key 2-3 times before finally being able to get it right. "Unable to connect to battle.net" message came up every time I tried to get on. Opened all the ports, turned off firewall, followed all the steps. Later I find out I recieved a 2week ban the moment I installed it, before ever getting on Battle.net. (How is this possible?)

And now, 2weeks later, when using the Battle.net Diagnostic Tool, it shows I'm still banned.

Shouldn't this restriction be over? And, how is my IP being restricted without ever actually signing on to Battle.net from this IP. I've been able to play sparingly at my college using the same CD Keys and same account name.

Any help?

Hello Fool88

There is a restriction on the connection you use to reach Battle.net. That means that this connection was detected violating the terms of use in one of the manners described below.

- Spamming text in the chat channel (often associated with bots)
- Repeated attempts to use an invalid CD-Key
- Repeated use of third-party programs (hacks) these include but are not limited to sending bad packets, flooding the server(s), and the use of hack programs

Restrictions of this nature can last form several days up to two weeks.

It looks like there is about 3 hours left.
