Aggressive critters in SC2 ??!
by Malavok | 12/07/2009 13:14:22![]() I would really like to see some aggressive critters in SC2, just like the various neutrals in WC3. In SC1, they just roamed and they were sometimes really annoying, because they blocked the build surface so that you had to kill them to use your workers. Aggressive critters can also make a map come more alive, as it is no longer 100% safe to scout around the map. Suddenly, your probe gets hunted by wildlife predators. I don't want this to be too much present in the game (I still think player focus should be the main thing), but I would like for Blizzard to provide the option. Could any of you Blizzard folks please comment on whether or not this feature will come with the game? Will there be severel neutrals in the editor and/or will it be possible to modify behaviors for the critters, even for Melee maps?! Thanks! by Xordiah | 13/07/2009 15:15:06![]() There are no aggressive critters on any of the maps playable on multiplayer right now and even non-aggresive for now the maps won't have a lot of critters. The goal is the keep the maps very easy to read and a lot of critters would cause confusion. But nevertheless, it is still possible for the map making community to create maps and mods where you can do all kinds of things with critters. So scenarios like you have posted are quite possible and I'd certainly would like see you post some more ideas on how to integrate cirtters (aggressive or non-agressive) creatively in maps. ;) RTS Community Team Blizzard Europe |
